This means you study with your base salary maintained and then receive a permanent position as a specialist nurse in the region. During your studies, you will have an introduction plan and regular contact with the manager at your future workplace. Once your degree is approved, your training position converts to a permanent employment as a specialist operating room nurse, where you will take on more qualified tasks where specialist expertise is deemed necessary for good and safe patient care. You will also receive a salary increase of 4,000 kronor upon completing your training. Specialization As a specialist operating room nurse, you are responsible for patient care and safety throughout the perioperative process. You plan, implement, and follow up on perioperative care and ensure that the correct equipment, instruments, and materials are available before and during surgery. In close collaboration with surgeons, anesthesia personnel, and other professionals, you contribute to an efficient and safe operating room workflow. The work involves significant responsibility, varied tasks, and the opportunity to use your specialist expertise in a high-tech environment. Region Östergötland offers training positions in this specialization starting spring term 2027 at Thorax Kärl in Linköping and Day Surgery in Norrköping. About You To be eligible for the training position, you need to: • Be a licensed nurse • Be admitted to the specialist training program by spring 2027 • Not have previously received study salary/paid specialist/advanced training from Region Östergötland We appreciate if you have worked for several years as a nurse. You do not need to be employed by Region Östergötland when you apply for a training position as a nurse. We are looking for someone who works well with others and takes responsibility for your tasks. You are quality-conscious and can be flexible in changing circumstances. You value your specialist knowledge, serve as a knowledge resource for others, and adapt your way of sharing knowledge to your audience. Application and Employment To be eligible for a training position, you must also be admitted to a specialist training program. You are responsible for applying to the training program on www.antagning.se between August 14th and September 15th. You apply for the position now and then supplement your application in the recruitment system with your admission certificate once you receive it. If the conditions for the training position are met, an initial selection will be made where those deemed most suitable will be invited to interview and references will be checked. Notice of whether the training position is granted or not will be communicated to each applicant by the end of November at the latest. Each introduction is individual and is conducted together with your direct manager. Before employment, you will also make a written agreement about what applies during your training period. During breaks in your studies, such as during summer, you work at the unit where your training position is based, unless otherwise agreed.
