This means you study while maintaining your base salary and then receive a permanent position as a specialist in the region. During your studies, you will have an introduction plan and regular contact with the manager at your future workplace. Once your degree is approved, your educational position converts to a permanent employment as a specialist nurse in intensive care, where you will take on more qualified tasks where specialist expertise is deemed necessary for good and safe patient care. You will also receive a salary increase of 4000 kronor after completing your education. Specialization As a specialist nurse in intensive care, you care for critically ill patients who require advanced monitoring and treatment around the clock. The work involves independently assessing the patient's condition, handling medical-technical equipment, and making quick, well-founded decisions in complex situations. You work closely with doctors and other professionals in a team while creating a sense of security and providing support to patients and their relatives in a often demanding environment. The role places high demands on both technical competence and a patient-centered approach where patient safety, ethics, and care are always in focus. For spring 2027, Region Östergötland offers an educational position at the Acute Internal Medicine Clinic in Linköping. About You To be eligible for the educational position, you must: • Be a licensed registered nurse • Be admitted to the specialist education program in spring 2027 • Not have previously received study allowance/paid specialist/further education from Region Östergötland We welcome applicants who have worked for several years as a registered nurse. You do not need to be employed by Region Östergötland when applying for an educational position as a nurse. We are looking for someone who works well with others and takes responsibility for your tasks. You are quality-conscious and can be flexible when circumstances change. You value your specialist knowledge, are a knowledge resource for others, and adapt your way of sharing knowledge to your audience. Application and Employment To be eligible for an educational position, you must also be admitted to a specialist education program. You are responsible for applying for the education at www.antagning.se between August 14th and September 15th. You apply for the position now and then supplement your application in the recruitment system with your admission certificate once you receive it. If the conditions for the educational position are met, an initial selection takes place where those deemed most suitable will be called for an interview and references will be checked. Notification of whether the educational position is granted or not will be communicated to each applicant by the end of November at the latest. Each introduction is individual and done together with your immediate manager. Before employment, you will also make a written agreement about what applies during your study period. During study breaks, such as during summer, you will work at the unit where your educational position is based, unless otherwise agreed.
