Content and responsibilities You will be placed under Joint Administrative Support and positioned at the chancellery of the Faculty of Engineering and Society, with your workplace at Niagara. The Faculty of Engineering and Society includes the Department of Computer Science and Media Technology and the Department of Materials Science and Applied Mathematics. The environment is international with teachers, researchers, and students from over 25 different nationalities. The position involves education planning and dimensioning of educational programs as well as case handling. As an Education Coordinator, you will work closely with the faculty leadership and the departments' assistant heads of education, both strategically and operationally with education planning and educational offerings. The work includes planning, monitoring, and analysis regarding content and dimensioning. It is central to work with the faculty's education forecasts and provide support to the departments' forecasting work. Examples of work tasks within the Education Coordinator's area of responsibility include: keeping an overview and ensuring that the departments' educational administrative processes function and that deadlines are met, responsibility for coordinating offerings and ensuring that the educational program is correct, establishing program occasions and structures, responsibility for the faculty's internal admissions process, including verifying planning figures and monitoring forecasts, monitoring educational offerings, coordinating admissions, registration, and place guarantees, providing support on educational administrative matters to the faculty leadership and the departments' assistant heads of education and program leaders, supporting the activities in accordance with laws, regulations, and university-internal rules. In addition to the above tasks, you will also serve as a case handler for the faculty's education committee and undergraduate education committee. The Education Coordinator is also responsible for handling matters such as education plans, course plans, routines, guidelines, as well as the discontinuation and establishment of courses and programs. Administration in other areas may be included. The role of Education Coordinator requires you to collaborate with many employees in a complex environment. Your role is an important resource for creating conditions to work systematically with the faculty's educational offerings and educational administrative matters. Qualifications You must have academic education that the employer considers relevant and extensive experience with qualified work in educational administration within the higher education sector. You have experience working with education planning or qualified handling of education. As an Education Coordinator, you have a central role in supporting the departments' education work, which places high demands on you having good collaboration skills, being solution-oriented, and approaching tasks in an unpretentious manner. At the same time, the role requires you to be driven and constructive, as the educational administrative processes you work with have clear deadlines. Work with education planning and monitoring also requires you to be analytical and able to identify and explain connections in a pedagogical manner. The role of Education Coordinator also presupposes that you have a good understanding of the university as an authority and have good ability to interpret and apply regulations within your area of expertise. The workload can be high during certain periods, which is why it is important that you can plan and prioritize your work. We work daily in a number of different data systems and you need to have well-developed system understanding and be comfortable learning new digital tools. You must master university-wide tools such as Ladok, Utbildningsinfo, and Canvas and have good knowledge of application systems such as NyA. You are a proficient user of Microsoft 365. The university is an international environment and the activities presuppose that you have very good knowledge of English and Swedish in both speech and writing.
