Nursing Education Position with Midwifery Specialization
Popis:
About Us The Women's Clinic is committed to and works for the reproductive and sexual health of Blekinge's residents and has operations in all municipalities in the region. At our midwifery clinics and family centers, we provide pregnancy check-ups, abortion counseling/care, contraceptive counseling, parental education, cervical screenings, early discharge home services, and ultrasound services. At the specialist clinic for pregnant patients, delivery, antenatal care, postpartum care, and postpartum clinics, we care for pregnant individuals, those in labor, and the postpartum period. The gynecological inpatient department provides pre- and postoperative care as well as cancer care and abortion care. The gynecological clinic handles gynecological concerns such as dysplasia, endometriosis, pelvic floor issues, and more. About the Education Position You will be employed in a permanent full-time position as a nurse with a monthly salary during your midwifery education. The program is three full-time semesters with mandatory attendance. You are entitled to statutory vacation, and you are expected to work clinically and contribute to the clinic's operations during the remaining summer months on a care ward. About You We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse and have been accepted to the midwifery program starting fall semester 2026. It is meritious to have at least three years of active, clinical experience as a nurse. It is desirable that you have experience as a nurse in health and medical care with technical elements similar to work on a care ward. A midwife must have a personality characterized by empathy, security, and trust. The work involves meeting people during some of life's most intense and vulnerable moments, which places high demands on your emotional presence, good communication skills, and sound judgment. A midwife must be able to understand an individual's situation, recognize anxiety, pain, and expectations, and respond with respect and warmth. At the same time, a calm and stability that is reassuring is required—especially in stressful situations. Workload varies rapidly, and the ability to safely and decisively handle acute events with the capacity to prioritize, communicate, and collaborate is important. Patient safety is a very central role in daily work, and we all have a responsibility to work toward improvement and development of operations. The midwife must be able to explain what is happening in a clear and pedagogical manner, listen actively, and tailor their approach to the individual's needs and background. This also includes being able to handle different cultural perspectives and wishes. Finally, personal maturity is fundamental—the ability to handle strong emotions, both your own and others', as well as showing respect for the individual's integrity and self-determination. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Other Information The practice-based studies will take place at several of the clinic's units across the region. One of these will subsequently become your workplace. After completing the education and obtaining your license, you will be offered employment as a midwife at one of the Women's Clinic's units in the region. The clinic cannot in advance specify which location or unit the employment will be offered at. This is determined based on where vacancies and needs exist upon completion of the education. As an employee at the Women's Clinic, you accept that, in accordance with the Swedish Abortion Act 1974:595, you will perform and/or assist in abortion care and counseling. To be a candidate for the position, you must provide an extract from the criminal record register. Interviews will begin on a rolling basis.
