We are currently implementing a new, modern procurement system that gives us access to new AI tools at a rapid pace. We are also introducing e-commerce and investing significantly in developing work methods, roles, and expertise. Our procurement unit consists of eleven dedicated employees in various roles, such as buyers and procurement specialists. The Procurement Unit also supports several neighboring municipalities with procurement, and together we are building a modern and business-oriented purchasing organization with the support of the latest technology. Our workplace is centrally located in Karlskoga, with easy access to both free parking and public transportation (Örebro/Karlstad). We offer the opportunity to work remotely part of the time. DUTIES As a procurement specialist, you will be responsible, both independently and as part of a team, for the entire procurement process—from initial needs analysis and discussions with requesters to the preparation and monitoring of agreements, all with a clear operational and business focus. The procurements are varied and encompass many exciting and interesting areas, such as goods, services, and construction projects. Your duties also include supporting and advising the municipality's requesters on purchasing, procurement, and contract matters, participating in information and training initiatives, and performing other common tasks within purchasing and procurement. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who is digitally skilled, engaged, and innovative—someone who welcomes change. It is very important that you dare to think differently and use tomorrow's digital tools to make smart and sustainable deals, as well as actively participate in our development work. In other respects, you are collaborative, structured, creative, and analytical. You hold a post-secondary education in procurement, economics, law, or another relevant field, or you have equivalent competence through extensive work experience in procurement. You must also be able to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish. As the municipality's representative to suppliers, you maintain a business-ethical and impartial approach. It is obvious that you have a genuine interest in procurement and purchasing matters, and we place great value on personal suitability.
