We are now looking for a procurement specialist for the Supply Management team. About Us Supply Management is a collaboration between the regions of Dalarna, Västmanland, Sörmland, Uppsala, and Örebro. Each year we conduct procurements valued at approximately 2 billion kronor and our assortment includes 100,000 articles. Region Uppsala hosts the collaboration and Supply Management employees are part of the same department as the region's own procurement specialists and buyers. Within Supply Management, procurement specialists, procurement controllers, environmental chemists, business developers, product, contract, quality and procurement coordinators, e-commerce manager, information officer, and management work together to provide healthcare and dental care with consumables at the right quality and price. Our work makes a difference. Your Role As a procurement specialist, you plan, lead, and conduct procurements from needs analysis to contract signing and contract management. The work encompasses the entire procurement process from developing requirement specifications, preparing procurement documents, signing contracts, and managing agreements. The procurement specialist role also includes providing support on procurement matters and working together with your colleagues in the unit to develop purchasing and procurement activities. Work as a procurement specialist is stimulating and varied with many contacts, and you become a central person in the work. The work involves leading, directing, and collaborating with expert groups consisting of different professional roles. The procurement specialist role requires business acumen and analytical ability. You take responsibility for your tasks, structure your approach, and drive your processes forward efficiently. You can prioritize and handle several different types of assignments simultaneously, which includes planning, setting, and maintaining timelines. You have the ability to adapt to the situation and adjust your approach based on the recipient in a responsive, clear, and smooth manner. As a person, you are confident, stable, and have self-awareness. As a procurement specialist, you will: • Independently conduct procurements primarily of orthopedic implants, surgical instruments, and stapling and energy instruments • Work closely with the operations to understand and meet their needs • Lead expert groups consisting of different professions • Be an advisory and supportive expert in procurement matters We are looking for someone who has: • Clinical experience as a nurse or healthcare assistant, preferably in orthopedics or surgery, and/or • extensive experience as a procurement specialist for consumables or medical technology equipment for healthcare, preferably in orthopedics or surgery, and/or • extensive experience in sales of consumables or medical technology equipment for healthcare, preferably in orthopedics or surgery • Good knowledge of the Office package • Very good ability to communicate orally and in writing in Swedish as well as good knowledge of English • Ability to work independently as well as in a team It is meritorious if you have: • Experience in purchasing, procurement, or sales of healthcare-related consumables, products, and/or equipment • Experience with improvement work, for example in material selection or changed working methods that lead to cost savings • Experience in project management or other roles where you lead others • Category B driver's license We Offer • Meaningful work where you make a difference for healthcare and patients • Opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to developing purchasing and procurement activities • Flexible working hours and the opportunity to work remotely one day per week • Wellness allowance, occupational pension, extra vacation days for those over 40 years old, and benefits related to parental leave • Skills development through internal and external training Placement: Region's House in central Uppsala, but the position may involve travel within Sweden.
