The Department of Information Technology holds a leading position in both research and education at all levels. We are currently Uppsala University's third largest department with over 350 employees, including 120 faculty members and 120 doctoral students. We are now seeking students who want to work as teaching assistants in periods 2 and 3. Duties Participation in teaching for one or more of the courses listed below. Participation in teaching includes, for example, attending labs and lectures, grading assignments, answering student questions, and supervising student projects. Qualifications Employment as a teaching assistant is regulated in the Higher Education Ordinance Chapter 5. Only those admitted to education at the basic or advanced level may be employed as a teaching assistant (HF Chapter 5 §10). Applicants must demonstrate good academic results, particularly within the course area you will be assisting with, and very good knowledge of English in both speech and writing. Desirable/Meriting Factors Previous experience participating in teaching for relevant courses at higher education level is particularly meritorious. Experience with relevant IT systems (Studium) is desirable, as is good knowledge of Uppsala University's organization. The application should also include which courses you are interested in and an estimate of the number of hours you wish to work (per course and period, where the total hours should sum to 30, 45, 60, 90, or 120). Also attach your registration certificate. About the Position The employment is time-limited according to HF Chapter 5 § 12 until 2027-01-31 or 2027-04-04 or by agreement. The scope is up to 50% depending on which period(s) and how many hours you work. Start date 2025-10-19 or 2026-10-19 or by agreement.
