The Department of Molecular Biosciences, Wenner-Grens Institute (MBW) conducts experimental basic research in molecular cell biology, integrative biology, and infection and immunology. The research is characterized by modern and advanced methodology, and the research environment has a strong international profile, connected to SciLifeLab (Solna). The Department offers education at undergraduate, advanced, and doctoral levels. MBW is one of the larger departments within the Faculty of Science at Stockholm University with 30 research groups and approximately 180 employees, of which approximately 50 are doctoral students.

Stockholm University conducts internationally competitive research in molecular physiology. MBW intends to strengthen and further develop its research and education within this field. The Department has appropriate infrastructure for advanced metabolic studies in mouse and rat models. The successful candidate is expected to lead a research group in molecular physiology and conduct experimental research with the aim of understanding mammalian metabolism at the molecular mechanistic level. We are seeking an outstanding researcher who can be integrated into the existing research environment.

Qualifications
To be eligible for appointment as a University Lecturer, the candidate must have demonstrated pedagogical skills and completed a doctoral degree, or possess equivalent competence, which is relevant to the subject content and duties of the position.
All teaching positions at Stockholm University require that the applicant has the ability to collaborate and is otherwise suitable to perform the duties.
Criteria for Evaluation
During the recruitment process, special weight will be given to scientific and pedagogical skills. Scientific skills will primarily be evaluated within the subject area of the position.
Some weight is also given to:
skill in developing and leading activities and personnel
administrative competence
When other qualifications are otherwise equivalent, the following are distinguishing factors:
teaching experience within the subject area of the position.
Higher Education Pedagogy
Higher education pedagogy training or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways is meritorious. An applicant lacking higher education pedagogy training of at least 15 credits who has not otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge must complete such training within the first two years of employment.
Other Information
Swedish language proficiency is not required for the appointment, but the applicant should be prepared to, within a couple of years if needed, take on administrative and pedagogical tasks that require good understanding of Swedish.
