The Department of Health, Medicine, and Rehabilitation offers education leading to degrees in psychology, occupational therapy, and physiotherapy, as well as bachelor's programs in health counseling and psychology, and courses in medical science. Research and research-based education are conducted in occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and psychology. The position of university lecturer in clinical psychology is placed within the psychology research subject area. Currently, we have 25 employees, including five doctoral candidates, working in areas such as clinical psychology, sports psychology, eyewitness psychology, developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, cognitive neuroscience, and engineering psychology. Our teaching is conducted within, among other areas, our five-year psychology program, our bachelor's program in psychology, and the course evidence-based psychotherapy. Subject Description The subject of psychology involves systematically exploring individuals' experiences, behavior, and biology, as well as their interrelationships and underlying mechanisms. As a discipline, psychology has produced applicable knowledge for the benefit of individuals for over 100 years, with the aim of describing and understanding human emotions, thoughts, and behaviors in all situations and environments. Duties The primary work area is clinical psychology for this position, but work within other areas of psychology will also be an important part of the employment. Within your teaching responsibilities, you are expected to develop and maintain pedagogical quality, teach and supervise students at all levels. Your duties also include conducting research with a focus on clinical psychology. The research component involves building networks and collaborating with Region Norrbotten, municipalities, and private actors, as well as being active in the research community and seeking external research funding. Within the scope of this position, work may include management and administrative tasks, as well as contributing to the university's development work and staying current with international developments in the clinical psychology field. We are open to the possibility of combining this position with clinical practice or other external activities, by agreement and in accordance with applicable regulations. Qualifications Eligible for employment as a university lecturer is a person who: Holds a doctoral degree or equivalent scientific competence within the field of clinical psychology Holds a Swedish psychologist license Has demonstrated pedagogical skills Has completed higher education pedagogy training equivalent to 7.5 credits or has acquired equivalent knowledge in another way Assessment Criteria The following assessment criteria apply to this position: Scientific skills Pedagogical skills Other assessment criteria Other Assessment Criteria (weighted in descending order) Extensive and broad clinical experience is meritorious Experience from previously teaching in psychology programs is meritorious Ability to teach in Swedish and English Ability to collaborate with the surrounding community To succeed and thrive in the role of university lecturer, you need to have good collaboration and planning skills, and how you through your experience and competence are assessed to complement and strengthen ongoing research, undergraduate education, and innovation within the subject, and contribute to its future development.
