The Section for Health and Rehabilitation is responsible for education and research in occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech pathology, and audiology. The section aims to conduct its activities with very high quality.
The Physiotherapy Unit is an active education and research environment with a vision to continue developing the physiotherapy of the future. Both education and research take place in close collaboration with healthcare services. Education is conducted at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels, and interdisciplinary research is conducted with both national and international collaboration.

Subject Description
Physiotherapy encompasses knowledge about and study of the human body in movement and how movement, body awareness and movement awareness, habits, and lifestyle patterns affect human health. The need for physiotherapy within municipal and regional primary care is a large and growing area given demographic development with an aging population and well-organized and accessible healthcare reform.
Job Responsibilities
The position involves working in an educational environment with a focus on student-centered learning. Job responsibilities include teaching and supervision within education at basic, advanced, and doctoral levels in the subject, with particular emphasis on rehabilitation within municipal and regional primary care where the applicant's professional experience will be applied in relevant teaching situations. Teaching includes course responsibility, course administration, and supervision of students at all educational levels. Teaching takes place in Swedish.
The work also includes conducting research and contributing to development within the research field of physiotherapy, supervising doctoral students, and actively seeking external research funding.
Job responsibilities include participating in the institution's activities, including administrative assignments in committees, and following developments within the applicant's own field and relevant societal issues.
Qualifications
Qualifications for employment as a lecturer are regulated in the Higher Education Ordinance and Göteborgs universitet's employment regulations.
A doctoral degree in physiotherapy, or what the employer considers equivalent, and demonstrated pedagogical competence. The applicant must be a licensed physiotherapist and have clinical experience in physiotherapy rehabilitation in municipal and/or regional primary care. The ability to teach in Swedish is a requirement.

Temporary vacancy substitute position (fixed-term employment) at 50% part-time with placement at the Department of Neuroscience and Physiology. Start fall semester 2026 or by agreement until June 15, 2027 with possibility of extension.
