The Department of Economics and Mathematics conducts education and research in business economics, national economics and industrial economics, statistics and commercial law, as well as in mathematics/applied mathematics and physics in both national and international environments. Teaching also includes supervision, examination, course evaluation, and course development. With us, research and education are closely intertwined, and research forms the foundation for our education. Collaboration is also an integrated part of our research and educational mission, and as a University Lecturer you actively contribute to the university's development work. Your duties also include general administration, professional development, and participation in daily operations, departmental and institutional work. The position includes teaching and examination in physics at both preparatory and basic levels. Duties also encompass serving as course coordinator and examiner, as well as development work within physics courses and educational programs that include physics. Furthermore, research in physics is included, including work on applications for external research funding. The position also includes contributing to collaboration and co-production with the surrounding society. Work duties may be performed at the university's two campuses, Västerås and Eskilstuna, as well as remotely. The position may also include future administrative and management-related tasks, such as program representative, program coordinator, or subject representative. Eligibility Requirements We are seeking someone who has demonstrated pedagogical competence and has completed a doctoral degree or has equivalent scientific competence. Scientific and pedagogical competence must be documented in such a way that the quality of previous work can be assessed. To be employed as a teacher at MDU, higher education pedagogy education or equivalent knowledge is required. Applicants who are hired but lack higher education pedagogy education will be offered such training during employment within two and a half years. The higher education pedagogy education at Mälardalen University corresponds to ten weeks of education. For this position, the following eligibility requirements apply in addition to those established in the Employment Regulations at MDU. To be eligible for the position, you must have completed a doctoral degree in physics. Additional requirements for the position include documented ability to plan and conduct research, as well as publish and communicate about research within the subject area. The research must be internationally recognized, particularly through peer-reviewed publications. The candidate must be able to express themselves well in speech and writing in Swedish.
