For more information, please visit: https://www.umu.se/kultmed The Department of Culture and Media Studies is announcing a position as University Lecturer in Ethnology. The position is full-time with a start date in January 2027 or by agreement. Description of Duties Duties include teaching ethnology at undergraduate and advanced levels, educational administration, and professional development time equivalent to 20%. Teaching may include independent online courses in ethnology, on-campus teaching in independent courses and programs, courses in English for exchange students, as well as teaching within the Teacher College's educational science core. In addition to independent and collaborative work on course and program development, the position may also involve subject-specific administrative responsibilities. Qualifications To be eligible for appointment as a University Lecturer, you must have demonstrated pedagogical competence and have completed a doctoral degree in ethnology, or have equivalent scientific competence or other professional expertise that is relevant to the subject matter and duties of the position. You are also eligible if you have completed a doctoral degree in a subject closely related to ethnology, provided that you can demonstrate equivalent ethnological competence. Good language skills in Swedish (or another Scandinavian language) and English, along with the ability to teach in these languages, are required for the position.
