Would you like to be part of a leading research environment in protein biochemistry and advance your research at Sweden's largest science and technology faculty?
We are now recruiting a Senior Lecturer in Biochemistry, specialized in protein biochemistry, who wants to develop and strengthen our research and education at the Department of Chemistry - Ångström Laboratory, Uppsala University.
Biochemistry is a core area at the Department of Chemistry - Ångström Laboratory and a central part of the Faculty of Science and Technology's life science profile. You will be part of the biochemistry program, where outstanding research is conducted on understanding the chemical and molecular principles that govern biological systems, with special emphasis on protein structure, function, dynamics, interactions, evolution, and catalytic mechanisms.
This recruitment is strategically important to maintain and renew internationally competitive research and education in protein biochemistry. The field is developing rapidly through integration of advanced experimental methods, large-scale data, AI-based models, and new concepts for understanding, designing, and modulating protein function. You will contribute to strengthening the program's established profile in molecular recognition, protein structure and dynamics, enzymatic mechanisms, protein technology, and/or interactomics, while also contributing to developing new research areas.
Field of Research
The field of research for this position is experimental biochemistry, specialized in protein biochemistry.
Protein biochemistry encompasses the molecular and chemical principles that govern protein structure, function, dynamics, interactions, evolution, and catalytic mechanisms. The field includes studies of proteins and their roles in biological systems. Relevant areas may include molecular recognition, protein structure and dynamics, enzymology, protein technology, protein design, directed evolution of protein function, interactomics, and/or multimodal analysis.
The position aims to strengthen and renew research and education in protein biochemistry and contribute to the continued development of molecular life science at the Department of Chemistry - Ångström Laboratory and the Faculty of Science and Technology.
