Your responsibilities As a University Lecturer in Business Law with a focus on Tax Law, you will teach at both undergraduate and advanced levels and supervise students. Your primary teaching area is tax law in a broad sense, including individual taxation, corporate taxation, value-added tax, EU tax law, and international tax law. The work includes teaching, course design, course responsibility, planning, and course development. Since your teaching will form a significant part of the Business Law Programs, you are expected to participate in quality work and program development. Teaching often takes place in teaching teams. You will teach primarily in Swedish, but teaching in English may occur. As a University Lecturer in Business Law with a focus on Tax Law, you are expected to conduct research within tax law, related legal areas, or other areas within business law. Research activities are carried out in both Swedish and English. As a university lecturer, you are also expected to seek external research funding both individually and in groups as part of your research activities. At the Department of Business Law, we often conduct research in collaboration with other departments and institutions within the university or at other higher education institutions. Interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary research projects are encouraged. We expect you to be active in the research community, participate in departmental activities such as seminars and workshops, participate in research projects, communicate results through scholarly publications, and contribute to attracting external research funding. We are looking for someone who actively wants to contribute to the university's development work. Collaboration is an integral part of the university's research and education mission. Research collaboration occurs through disseminating, making accessible, and utilizing research. Educational collaboration occurs through planning, implementing, and evaluating education in dialogue with relevant societal actors. The position requires that you have good collaboration skills and can work in teaching teams and research groups. It is of great importance that you can plan your work with good foresight and are careful with deadlines. The position requires that you adopt the digital systems used in the teaching role, such as the intranet for course information, scheduling systems, software for digital anonymous examination, etc. The position may involve you eventually taking on certain administrative tasks, such as Director of Studies, Program Coordinator, or committee assignments. We would also like to see you participate in and show interest in management tasks. Your work includes keeping up with developments nationally and internationally within your field and societal developments that are relevant to your work. We expect you to be flexible and able to participate in various types of pedagogical and scientific contexts. You share knowledge and contribute to your work group's professional development, collaborative working methods, and social community. That you are present and active is essential for you to perform your duties effectively and thrive in your work environment. Your qualifications We are looking for someone with a doctoral degree or equivalent scientific competence, and who has demonstrated pedagogical skills or other professional skills that are significant given the subject content and responsibilities of the position. For this position, equal weight will be placed on scientific and pedagogical skills in the first instance, and in the second instance other skills deemed mutually equivalent will be considered. Regarding scientific skills, the following will be assessed: A requirement for the position is documented scientific skills within tax law. Particularly meritorious for the position is documented skills in obtaining external research funding. Meritorious for the position is documented scientific skills within additional legal areas within business law. Meritorious for the position is documented skills from collaboration within research groups, including participation in interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary research projects. Meritorious for the position is documented skills regarding collaboration with the surrounding society in research. Regarding pedagogical skills, the following will be assessed: A requirement for the position is documented pedagogical skills from teaching within tax law. Particularly meritorious for the position is documented pedagogical skills within several tax law sub-areas, particularly including international tax law and value-added tax. Meritorious for the position is documented pedagogical skills within additional legal areas of relevance to the Department of Business Law, such as EU law, property law, insolvency law, and IT law. Meritorious for the position is documented development of pedagogical skills, for example through completed higher education pedagogy courses. Meritorious for the position is documented pedagogical skills regarding course responsibility and course design, for example as an examiner, course coordinator, and/or lead instructor. Other skills that will be assessed for this position are: Good collaboration skills and ability to contribute to your work group's development, collaborative working methods, and social community. Good ability to structure, plan, organize, and prioritize work efficiently. Administrative and digital skills are meritorious for the position. Since teaching and research are conducted in both Swedish and English, it is a requirement that you demonstrate the ability to teach and conduct research in both Swedish and English.
