Your Tasks The Division of Mechanics and Materials Engineering conducts research in material and durability modeling, structural integrity, structural optimization, and biomechanics. The research is often conducted in close collaboration with industry. The division offers a comprehensive course portfolio within engineering programs, civil engineering programs, and master's programs at LiU. Both basic and advanced courses are offered. The position as University Lecturer in Solid Mechanics involves course responsibility and teaching at both basic and advanced levels. Teaching is conducted in Swedish and English. You are flexible and have the ability to move between different types of pedagogical and scientific contexts. You share your knowledge and contribute to the work group's professional development, collegial working methods, and social community. Your Qualifications We are looking for someone who has completed a master's degree or has equivalent competence, and has demonstrated pedagogical skill. For this position, particular emphasis will be placed on pedagogical skill. Regarding pedagogical skill, the following will be assessed: A requirement for employment is documented pedagogical skill in teaching and supervision at basic or advanced level in solid mechanics and/or related areas, as well as good subject knowledge relevant to the position's content and the tasks involved. Particularly meriting for employment is documented ability to lead and develop teaching in mechanics and materials engineering, as well as demonstrated collegial collaboration skills and commitment within the field. Meriting for employment is documented experience in teaching mechanics and materials engineering in higher education, as well as completed university pedagogy courses. Regarding other skills, the following will be assessed: Meriting for employment is documented research within the division's research field. Since teaching is conducted in Swedish and English, you must be able to demonstrate the ability to teach in both Swedish and English.
