Högskolan Väst is seeking a University Lecturer in Nursing The Department of Health Sciences conducts education and research primarily in areas such as health, nursing, and nursing science. Nursing science studies humans in relation to health and illness, activities to promote health, caring in connection with illness, and issues concerning organization, leadership, and education related to caring. The current position relates to aspects of nursing science that are relevant to the nursing profession. Job Responsibilities: We offer varied work with teaching primarily on campus, though distance teaching may also occur. You will have the opportunity to work with planning and teaching, primarily within our programs, but also within individual courses and commissioned education. The position also includes supervision of degree projects within the nursing program. Collaboration with healthcare operations in the surrounding community is an important part of the work. If you have specialist nurse training in any of the specializations we offer, teaching within the relevant specialist nurse program may be possible. As a university lecturer, you will participate in pedagogical development work. The work takes place in a dynamic and creative environment where you actively participate in the development of education and teaching, and contribute to how research and education are integrated. To contribute to a good work environment and development of the field, you will participate in the daily work community at the department when work tasks are not conducted elsewhere. You will follow developments within the field and broader societal developments that are relevant to teaching. Eligibility Requirements for Employment as University Lecturer: Demonstrated pedagogical competence. Applicants lacking pedagogical qualifications from an academic environment must have competence equivalent to the university's eligibility requirements, though it may have been acquired outside the academic environment. Completed higher education pedagogical training of at least ten weeks or equivalent competence. If higher education pedagogical training is lacking, employment may still occur provided the employee completes the training during the first two years of employment. Completed degree at advanced level or equivalent. In certain cases, professional competence may qualify instead of an advanced degree. This applies when the professional competence is assessed as equivalent to an advanced degree and is relevant to the work tasks included in the position. For this position, the following is also required: Documented strong collaborative ability Good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing Clinical experience as a specialist nurse Experience with teaching and/or supervision at university level within nursing education or specialist nurse education Personal qualities such as strong ability for independent work and planning, attentiveness, initiative, and engagement in the operations Meritorious for the position: Experience supervising nursing/specialist nursing students Specialist nurse degree in public health/diabetes care Experience in diabetes care Experience in research and scientific production Evaluation Criteria: When evaluating, professional competence and pedagogical competence will be weighted equally and given first priority, while administrative competence, leadership competence, collaboration competence, and scientific competence will be weighted equally and given second priority. When assessing competence, the subject area of the position, subject description, and work tasks will be considered. Other Information: The employment is permanent.
