The Faculty of Technology and Health Sciences conducts education and research in technology, health, and information design with a clear focus on societal challenges. Our research is carried out in close collaboration with external partners, nationally and internationally, and contributes to knowledge development and innovation. Through our collaboration platforms, we bring together academia, the public sector, and industry to jointly drive knowledge development and strengthen the relevance of research and education. Education at all levels is research-oriented and clearly connected to the needs of society and working life. Together we contribute to sustainable societal development. The faculty has three departments where approximately 500 people work. The Department of Health Science, Innovation and Design conducts education related to various professions in healthcare and health. Additionally, education is offered in public health, innovation, and information design. The department conducts strong and applied research that addresses issues of societal importance. Research and education are developed in collaboration with the public sector, industry, and civil society to provide students with current knowledge for their future professional lives. Teaching also includes supervision, examination, course evaluation, and course development. Collaboration is an integrated part of the university's research and education mission, and as a university lecturer you actively contribute to the university's development work. Your responsibilities also include general administration and professional development, as well as participating in daily activities and the work of the subject and department. This position involves teaching at the bachelor's level, including planning and delivery of instruction according to existing course syllabi, examination formats, and course materials. This includes program-specific courses in Spatial Design as well as co-taught courses in Information Design, where students from Spatial Design - Information Design, Interaction Design - Information Design, and Visualization and Text Design - Information Design participate. Beyond teaching, responsibilities include planning and active participation in the teaching team, student supervision, examinations, and facilitating seminars. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has demonstrated teaching ability and holds a bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification. Your teaching ability must be documented in a way that allows assessment of the quality of your previous work. To be employed as a teacher at MDU, higher education pedagogical training or equivalent knowledge is required. If hired without higher education pedagogical training, you will be offered such training during your employment within two and a half years. The higher education pedagogical training at Mälardalens University corresponds to ten weeks of study. For this position, the following qualifications are required in addition to those established in the Employment Regulations at MDU: Bachelor's degree in a subject relevant to the position, such as graphic design, graphic form, or equivalent qualifications Knowledge and understanding of the design process and the ability to connect theory and practice A requirement for the position is good oral and written communication skills in Swedish at the level necessary to perform ordinary teaching and administrative duties Evaluation Criteria The evaluation will be based on the degree of skill required for the position and the overall ability and suitability necessary to perform the duties well. In addition to the evaluation criteria established in the Employment Regulations at MDU, special weight will be given to the following for this position: Experience with teaching at the higher education level in subjects relevant to the position Master's degree In an overall assessment of suitability, personal qualities will also be considered.
