The Department of Military History has two divisions: the Military History Division and the Language Center. The Swedish Defence University is now seeking a part-time University Lecturer in French (25%) for the Language Center. About the Workplace The Swedish Defence University's Language Division is located at https://www.fhs.se/om-forsvarshogskolan/organisation/sprakcentrum.html and its primary mission is to design and deliver language education for military personnel working in the defense sector, primarily in English and French. Job Responsibilities As a University Lecturer in French, your primary responsibilities will be teaching French to students in the Senior Officer Program. You will also work on designing and delivering language instruction for personnel at the Swedish Defence University and within the Swedish Armed Forces. In addition, you will develop appropriate teaching materials for the courses you teach. Who We Are Looking For We are seeking someone with: - Higher education pedagogy training or equivalent knowledge acquired through other means - Experience teaching French to adults - Documented teaching proficiency Meritorious qualifications include experience teaching military personnel, military rank (national or international), and good knowledge of the Swedish Armed Forces' organization. A probationary period may apply. Employment at the Swedish Defence University may involve a security clearance according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585). If you are already on war placement in your current position at a government agency and your expertise is needed in the Swedish Defence University's war organization, negotiations will take place between the relevant agency and the Swedish Defence University regarding your placement.
