The Department of Education, Didactics and Educational Sociology (EDU) conducts research, doctoral education, undergraduate education and commissioned education in education, didactics and educational sociology. EDU also hosts several master's programs. EDU has approximately 250 employees, including around 175 teachers/researchers, 45 doctoral students and 30 administrators. Duties: Teaching, examination, research, administration and supervision. The position involves teaching in didactics with a focus on Swedish, courses in visual arts and aesthetics, teaching within the educational science core, supervision and examination of independent work at basic and advanced levels, and practice-based education within preschool teacher, primary teacher and subject teacher programs. Some teaching takes place online using digital learning platforms. Teaching also includes course responsibility, course administration and course development. Additionally, course coordination assignments are included, which involve information, curriculum, research and evaluation work.
Qualification Requirements: To be eligible for employment as a university lecturer, you must have demonstrated pedagogical skill and hold a degree with subject specialization from higher education that is relevant to the subject content of the position and the duties involved. A requirement for demonstrating pedagogical skill is completion of relevant higher education pedagogy training of at least five weeks or equivalent knowledge. This position requires experience teaching university-level subject didactics courses in Swedish, visual arts and aesthetics courses, supervising and examining independent work, and practice-based education within preschool teacher and primary teacher programs.
The applicant must be able to teach in Swedish and English. Swedish language proficiency is required for this position, as most of the course literature is in Swedish and addresses a Swedish-language context where examination assignments and other student texts must be read and reviewed in Swedish.
Desirable and/or Meriting Qualifications: A master's degree in didactics, a teaching degree, and several years of experience teaching Swedish in primary school are meritorious. All qualifications must be documented so that both quality and scope can be assessed.
