The Department of Natural Sciences, Design and Sustainable Development (NDH) operates on Campus Östersund and Campus Sundsvall, where we educate and conduct research within the department's disciplines with a focus on sustainable development. In Östersund, research and education are conducted in building technology, ecoengineering, environmental science and environmental engineering. Building technology is an interdisciplinary subject with a focus on sustainable construction and sustainable community development. The subject collaborates with many different actors within and outside the university and has a strong regional presence with a regional industry council linked to the subject collegium. We are looking for someone who is passionate about teaching and wants to be part of our subject collegium and thus our engineering program, Building Engineer Sustainable Construction 180 credits. The program has a strong environmental profile that permeates all courses and is offered at both Campus Östersund and online. Education is conducted in close collaboration with companies and authorities in the region. Job Responsibilities The position includes teaching, educational administration and development work within the areas of building production, design, construction planning, and building technology. Since many of the subject's courses are offered online, a large part of the teaching takes place via web-based learning platforms. Qualifications Anyone employed as a university lecturer must be qualified according to the requirements described in Mid Sweden University's employment regulations. For qualification as a university lecturer at Mid Sweden University, at least 180 higher education credits are required, including at least 90 higher education credits within the subject or equivalent within the subject area the employment concerns. You should have broad expertise within the above-mentioned subject areas. Assessment Criteria The assessment criteria for employing a university lecturer are based on the degree of such proficiency as is required for qualification for the position. Assessment of pedagogical proficiency shall be given equal weight to assessment of other qualification-related conditions. You should have documented experience in teaching, course responsibility and general educational administration, as well as good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form. You should have an interest in collaborating and working on course development in close collaboration with the local business community. A doctoral degree is a merit. Personal Qualities Since we often work in teaching teams, we place great importance on your collaboration skills, and we would like to see that you are flexible, have good initiative and can take responsibility. Processing Preparation of the employment follows the procedures specified in Chapter 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance and proceeds in accordance with Mid Sweden University's employment regulations. Employment and Start Date The position is a temporary employment at 75% of full-time, from 2026-07-01 or by agreement, but no later than 2027-06-30. Possibility of extension may exist.
