About the Workplace You'll join a team of six youth coaches working at the municipality's two meeting places for young people. Many evenings and weekends, the doors are open to young people who want to come to a safe place to socialize, participate in activities, discuss life and their dreams, or help plan programs. We work closely with the municipality's middle schools and are present during parts of the school day to build relationships with young people during daytime hours. The activities are continuously developed together with other units within culture and leisure, study associations, and community organizations to offer Ale municipality's young people a varied selection of activities. We also meet young people through our digital channels, including Facebook, Instagram, and the Ung i Ale app. Building sustainable relationships is our primary focus. Responsibilities As a youth coach, you work in a relationship-building and supportive manner with young people in their everyday lives. You contribute to creating a safe and inclusive program where young people are given opportunities for participation, community, and personal development. Your tasks include: Building and developing relationships with young people at meeting places, in school environments, and through digital channels. Planning, implementing, and following up on activities together with young people and colleagues. Contributing to the development of the program and participating in ongoing development processes. Collaborating with colleagues, schools, community organizations, study associations, and other stakeholders. Contributing to achieving the unit's common goals and mission. Work is scheduled during daytime, evenings, and weekends. Young people's free time—that is, school breaks, evenings, and weekends—are prioritized activity times, and on average you'll work two evenings per week. Qualifications We're looking for someone with post-secondary education that the employer considers relevant for the position or equivalent experience as determined by the employer. You're interested in developing youth programs and thrive in an activity that is constantly evolving. We're looking for someone who, together with your colleagues, wants to inspire young people to participate and engage in the shared program. It's a merit if you have experience from sports and community organizations. As a person, you're positive, outgoing, and confident in yourself. You're creative, take initiative, and have the ability to set boundaries in your professional role. You're comfortable in youth environments and have an easy time building relationships and collaborating with both colleagues and partners. To succeed in this role, you need to be able to take responsibility for, plan, implement, and evaluate your work. You enjoy working in a team and following shared work methods, while also being able to independently structure your workday and lead activities. We place great importance on personal suitability.
