Umeå Municipality has established, through collaboration between Social Services and Ersängsskolan, an operational team working with early intervention and prevention measures for students in need of support. The team consists of two employees from Social Services' Prevention Unit and two employees from the school, as well as a coordinator from student health services. Your organizational affiliation will be Social Services within the Prevention Unit, and your physical workplace will be at Ersängsskolan. We are now recruiting two youth workers for our team! Your Responsibilities Your role within the operational team, together with your colleagues, is to collaborate to ensure safety, a conducive study environment, and increase student attendance at school. This work is conducted with students and in close collaboration with guardians, both individually and in groups. In this role, you are expected to work independently as well as in a team to conduct preventive work and work goal-oriented with students at Ersängsskolan. The ultimate goal of the operational team's work is to increase academic achievement and attendance at school. The operational team shall work outreach-based at the school to build relationships with students in order to detect and prevent problems. Provide support to individual students at home or outside the classroom in cases of problematic school absence, where the team can help students get to school. This support is provided in collaboration with guardians. Support can also be provided to students in groups based on general school needs, for example values-based work to counteract exclusion and increase confidence in society's support functions, Social Services, and police, among others. About You We are looking for someone with a degree in Social Work and previous experience supporting children, youth, and their families. The position also requires a valid driver's license (category B) and good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. As a member of the operational team, it is essential that you can work proactively, transparently, independently, and flexibly. At the same time, the position requires strong collaboration skills, as it involves being part of a team and maintaining contacts with various Social Services departments, leisure activities, police, school staff, student health teams, students, and guardians. You are attentive and confident in your professional role with the ability to make correct assessments and prioritizations. Through your commitment and attentiveness, you build trust and develop relationships with various parties through individual conversations or group work.
