What does Scenkonst Öst offer you? Ung Scen Öst is an independent division of Östgötateatern that, together with Östgötamusiken and Norrköping's Symphony Orchestra, forms Scenkonst Öst. The company was founded in 2016 and creates performing arts with both breadth and excellence, and the activities are for everyone in Östergötland. The organization also includes operational support comprising departments for communications, HR, IT, finance, and facilities. Since its start in 2001, Ung Scen Öst has been one of Sweden's leading venues for performing arts for children and young people. Our mission is to perform theater for children and young people from age 6 and up, with school classes as our primary target audience. We perform at our theater house in Linköping, at a touring stage in Norrköping, and on tour in classrooms throughout Östergötland. Each year we produce 4–6 original productions and conduct a number of projects. What does the role involve? The technical department at Ung Scen Öst consists of two theater technicians and a technical coordinator who manages the department and coordinates technical work in close dialogue with the operations. As a Theater Technician at Ung Scen Öst, you will work with theater technology at Ung Scen Öst's stages in Linköping, at the touring stage in Norrköping, and on tour. The work includes building/dismantling scenography, rigging, and programming sound and lighting technology, as well as responsibility for running performances. You will support the artistic teams with your expertise and participate in planning and executing the creation, building, dismantling, and moving of productions between the different stages. For assigned touring productions, you will also serve as tour manager in consultation with the producer, with responsibility for coordinating the technical work and ensuring the tour is carried out in a safe and well-planned manner. Who are we looking for? We are seeking two theater technicians who want to contribute to our activities with commitment, responsibility, and technical interest. You may have several years of experience in theater technical work, but you could also be at the beginning of your career with relevant education, internships, or other experience from performing arts, events, or similar technical contexts. The most important thing is that you have a solid foundation, want to develop in the role, and enjoy working practically, solution-oriented, and together with others in an artistic context. We believe you have Theater technical education or equivalent work experience Theater technical knowledge in sound, lighting, stage, or rigging Meritorious experience and knowledge Experience with QLab Networking knowledge Experience with GrandMA3 or similar lighting consoles Knowledge of drawing programs, for example CAD, SketchUp, or similar Good Swedish in speech and writing Lift certificate and forklift license B-class driver's license is a requirement for the position Other information: Employment type: Permanent (6-month probation period) Scope: 100%.
