YOUR ROLE As a nursing assistant, you'll work either at a care facility or within home care services. Regardless of placement, you support individuals in their daily lives with both care and practical assistance. This can include everything from personal hygiene and mobility assistance to creating a sense of security for the individual – around the clock. You work with a rehabilitative approach where you encourage the individual's own abilities and contribute to a meaningful daily life. The role also includes documenting, planning and coordinating services, as well as being a point of contact for one or more individuals – which means you have a particularly important role in creating security and continuity based on the individual's needs. Everything happens in close collaboration with colleagues and other resources – because here we work mostly for others, but also for each other. YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE You are a trained nursing assistant and can demonstrate a protected professional title or equivalent according to current regulations. You have very good knowledge of Swedish – you can read and absorb information, document and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing based on the individual's needs. It is important that you have sufficiently good physical capabilities to handle the tasks the work entails. To thrive in the role, you need to be stable and secure in yourself – because you often meet individuals in vulnerable situations, it is crucial that you can convey calm, build trust and be a secure point in their daily life. It is an advantage if you have experience working in care and support, especially with people who have cognitive illnesses. Skellefteå Municipality is part of the Finnish and Sámi administration area. Language skills in Finnish and Sámi as well as cultural competence in these areas are therefore advantageous. At certain workplaces, you need a B driver's license and/or be able to cycle. The position is subject to a requirement for a background check according to law. Before a possible employment offer, you must provide an excerpt from the criminal record for work with elderly people or people with disabilities. You are responsible for ordering the correct excerpt from the Police Authority.
