About Us At the Pediatric Heart Center, we care for children from across the country in connection with heart surgery, cardiac catheterization, heart transplantation, and other investigations and treatments of children with heart disease. The Pediatric Heart Center at Queen Silvia Children's Hospital is one of Sweden's two centers with the assignment of National Highly Specialized Care (NHV) in pediatric heart surgery and we also perform highly specialized pediatric cardiology. We work with Patient-Centered Care where clear teamwork between different professions gives us the conditions to create value for the patient. Pharmacists, nursing assistants, service staff, and administrative personnel support other care staff with tasks that are not patient-facing, which gives you ample opportunity to provide professional nursing care. The Pediatric Heart Center now needs to strengthen resources with two temporary staff members as employees are on leave from fall 2026 for studies and parental leave, among other reasons. We are therefore recruiting nursing assistants who want to participate in the continued development of our operations. What Do We Offer? We believe in a good start and have a solid introduction package. This includes, among other things, an individually tailored four-week introduction period and continuous mentoring from both mentors and experienced colleagues. We offer competency development through training, lectures, and reflection sessions. The management team on the unit consists of a unit manager, two care unit managers, and two section leaders, all with backgrounds in the field. Job Responsibilities As a nursing assistant with us, you are responsible for nursing care for children and young people who are treated in connection with investigation or treatment of congenital or acquired heart disease. This includes, among other things, monitoring vital parameters, wound care, nutrition, and mobilization. You work in a team together with other nursing assistants as well as with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. We can therefore offer you varied and stimulating work with great job satisfaction. About You We are looking for you who are a nursing assistant with nursing care training focused on pediatric care. It is an advantage if you have a degree as a specialist nursing assistant and/or experience in caring for children in a hospital setting. We are looking for you who have demonstrated that you can quickly acquire new knowledge and adapt to new ways of working. Interest, willingness, and ability to help others and your interest in contributing to the development of our operations are important qualities. References from your supervisor demonstrating this are a requirement.
