Oncology Clinic Mälarsjukhuset, Eskilstuna About Us Oncology Clinic Sörmland is a regional clinic serving all of Sörmland. Our mission is to care for, cure, treat, and provide nursing care to patients in Sörmland suffering from tumor diseases with the highest competence and quality. The oncology department treats not only patients with tumor diseases but also hematology patients with various blood disorders. Patients on the department are 18 years of age or older. We are also responsible for follow-up care of stem cell transplant patients in Sörmland. The oncology operations at Mälarsjukhuset are housed in one building, which provides excellent logistics for both patients and staff. Radiation therapy is performed on floor 2, the oncology clinic is on floor 3, and the care unit is on floor 4. An oncology clinic is also located at Nyköping Hospital. We work at varying pace where we meet patients in acute situations and also patients at the end of life. You will work with pleasant and supportive colleagues in an open and welcoming climate. We work daytime hours in three teams consisting of two nurses and one nursing assistant per team. In the evenings, there is one nurse and one nursing assistant per team. We place great emphasis on collaborating and helping each other across teams. Your Responsibilities As a nursing assistant, you will work together with a nurse in a team responsible for planning and implementing nursing care based on patients' needs. You organize and prioritize your workday with the patient's best interest in focus. You must have a clear nursing focus, be service-oriented, responsive, and have good ability to collaborate with different professional groups. The work is interesting and varied with both planned activities and acute care. Work pace varies and can change during your shift. We consider it self-evident that you treat colleagues, patients, and family members with care and respect. We offer four weeks of orientation with regular check-ins and in-house training specific to our department. You will have the opportunity to influence your schedule as we use a wish-based scheduling system. The group has high competence and we have an open-minded culture—all questions are welcome! Your Qualifications You are a trained nursing assistant. In addition to your nursing assistant diploma, you need a certificate of your professional license as a nursing assistant from the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) or proof that you were employed as a nursing assistant from July 1, 2023. To thrive with us, you need to enjoy working in a team but also be able to work independently. You are responsive and can communicate well with both colleagues and patients. You are calm, stable, and can quickly adapt to acute situations and changing circumstances. You have good ability to collaborate and an approach characterized by respect, humility, and empathy. You have good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written. It is an advantage if you have prior experience working in inpatient care. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.
