Make a difference. Every day. The Lung Department is a care unit with integrated outpatient services comprising 18 inpatient beds and 4 outpatient intervention beds. Here we treat patients with COPD, emphysema, lung cancer, pneumothorax, and interstitial lung diseases, among others. Within the intervention services, bronchoscopy examinations, drain placements, pleural tappings, and preparations for fine needle biopsies are performed. Our operations serve a broad patient clientele, ranging from previously healthy patients who have suffered pneumothorax to patients with extensive care needs in their final stage of life. This creates a varied and developmental work environment where you have the opportunity to meet many different patient groups and care situations. WORK TASKS The Lung Department is a workplace characterized by respect and security where we all work together for the patient's best interest. You are offered very exciting and varied work where, as a nursing assistant, you have great responsibility for patient care, but also some medical-technical responsibility with drains. As a nursing assistant, you assist doctors with drain placements. Would you like to help develop nursing care work together with us? We work in teams around our patients where all professional categories are included, such as nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, social workers, and doctors. You contribute your experience, competence, and learning to increase personal and professional competence within the team. As a new employee, you are offered an individually tailored introduction based on your previous experience. During the introduction period, you also have the opportunity to meet the department's physiotherapists, social worker, and pharmacist to create a broad understanding of multidisciplinary work. There is an opportunity to observe within other activities in the lung medicine field, both during and after the introduction. QUALIFICATIONS We welcome you who are a trained nursing assistant and meet the National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements for a protected professional title, regardless of whether you studied according to the previous or current program structure. Good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are required. Personal qualities that we value are that you are positive, engaged, and want to develop in your role as a nursing assistant. Furthermore, you have good communication skills and are service-oriented. You are humble in your approach to patients and colleagues and have the patient in focus.
