We are now recruiting a nursing assistant for a combined position at Åbylund. Åbylund is a special residential facility located centrally in Gamleby, near a health center and shops. There is a pleasant and accessible courtyard with beautiful plantings. Our vision at Åbylund is that everyone should be able to be themselves. To achieve this, we work to preserve existing abilities and ensure that each person can manage what they are capable of on their own.
Most of us working at Åbylund are trained nursing assistants with extensive experience. We work with fixed care contacts, which means that as a nursing assistant you will have primary responsibility for certain residents.
Your Responsibilities
Your responsibilities consist of providing care, help, and support to residents based on their individual needs and creating meaningful daily activities for them. You will also prepare implementation plans for the residents you become the contact person for. We work according to a salutogenic approach, which means we see the healthy aspects of each individual.
You will work according to a schedule covering day, evening, and weekends, as well as nights. During one period you will work day/evening shifts, and during another period you will work nights. Both periods include weekend work. The Social Services Department in Västervik Municipality is implementing a desired employment level system, which means that in time you will be able to choose what employment level you wish to work.
Your Qualifications
We want you to have a degree from a health and care program or comparable education that the employer deems equivalent.
The position requires that you have basic IT skills to be able to work with the systems we use for record-keeping and more. You must also have basic knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Within the Social Services Department in Västervik Municipality, we use language tests as part of the recruitment process.
It is important that you have strong empathetic abilities and can listen to and understand the residents' different needs, and that you have the will to meet these needs in the best possible way.
The position requires that you are responsible and have a flexible work approach. You also need to be attentive and have good ability to collaborate with residents, relatives, and colleagues.
