The Nursing Assistant Role
On the surgical clinic, we care for patients undergoing various investigations, treatments, planned and acute surgeries. You will work on a care unit where tasks mainly consist of pre- and post-operative care. We have a strong patient focus and continuous improvement and development work takes place at our clinic.

We primarily care for patients who have a surgical diagnosis, need investigation, examination, or surgery. Palliative patients at the end of life are also cared for in close cooperation with SSIH. The unit also has spaces for urology and children over 4 years old. We receive patients both acutely and as planned admissions. The surgical clinic's inpatient care at Höglandssjukhuset in Eksjö consists of four units focused on upper abdomen, lower abdomen/palliative patients, acute/pediatrics, and urology. There are 30 care beds here. The surgical care unit in Eksjö is part of the Surgical Clinic in Region Jönköpings län, which since 2017 has been a region-wide clinic with operations in three locations: Eksjö, Jönköping, and Värnamo. At all three locations there are emergency departments and acute surgical care is provided around the clock including surgery and intensive care.

Your Profile
We are looking for you who are a trained nursing assistant and have an interest in surgical care, preferably with experience from care unit work within surgical care.
Together with your colleagues, you always work with the patient in focus and with a high sense of care and service. You are a good team member and enjoy working in an environment where acute situations can suddenly arise. As a person, you are calm and stable, attentive and accommodating. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
