The patient population is broad, including both young and elderly patients. The department consists of 30 care beds divided among three medical flows: coronary, heart failure and valve, and arrhythmia. The department includes a coronary angiography and PCI laboratory with both acute and elective patients. The operations also include pacemaker implantation and electrical cardioversion for cardiac arrhythmias. There is also an ultrasound laboratory and nurse-led clinics for arrhythmias, pacemakers, and long-term ECG monitoring. The department collaborates with other units in both Lund and Malmö, for example thoracic surgery and intensive care, as well as other hospitals within and outside the region. All staff categories work closely together with the patient in focus. Within cardiac care at Skåne University Hospital (Sus), research is conducted at local, national, and international levels. This means we are at the forefront as a unit where you as a nurse are continuously engaged in various research studies and thereby contribute to advancing cardiac care. 2 position(s). In your role as a nursing assistant in the cardiology department in Malmö, your base placement will be in one of the medical flows—coronary or heart failure and valve and arrhythmia—but you will alternate between flows. The team around the patient includes nurses, nursing assistants, physicians, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, biomedical analysts, and medical secretaries. Work in the department consists of providing good patient care.
