NURSING ASSISTANT FOR HOME CARE – DEMENTIA AND MENTAL HEALTH
We are looking for you who are a qualified nursing assistant, have experience from home care and/or elderly care facilities, and have a strong interest in working within one or more of the organization's specializations.
Stockholms Demens och Specialteam is a home care service that works with people with dementia, mental health issues, functional disabilities, and substance abuse problems. Work is adapted to each client's needs and we focus on engagement, motivation, and various creative methods to make support function in the client's daily life.
OUR TEAMS AND SPECIALIZATIONS
The organization is divided into different teams.
The Dementia Team works with people who have various forms of dementia. Within the Dementia Team there is also a specialist dementia team, where specialized staff work with clients who have more advanced dementia and greater need for adapted engagement and working methods.
The Specialist Team works with people who have mental health issues, functional disabilities, or substance abuse problems. The Specialist Team also includes the residential support team.
Depending on your experience, knowledge, and interests, you can work within one or more of our teams and also combine work within home care and residential support.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for you who have a genuine interest and commitment to one or more of our specializations.
You need to be able to create a sense of security, treat people in a professional manner, and adapt your working approach to the client. The work requires that you can take your own initiative, work independently, and motivate clients to receive the help they have been granted.
You also need to be able to collaborate with colleagues and management, receive supervision and feedback, and document and inform management when something changes with the client.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability, particularly engagement, responsibility, initiative, communication, and commitment.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
You must be a qualified nursing assistant and be able to show:
approved Swedish grades of at least 1,500 points from nursing assistant training
protected professional title as nursing assistant
previous work experience from home care and/or elderly care facilities
You need to have very good Swedish both spoken and written as you will communicate with clients, read instructions, and document in client records.
Experience working with people who have dementia and/or mental health issues is meriting.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Employment: Full-time, 100%
Working hours: 07.30–16.30
Work measure: 37/37
Schedule: Rolling four-week schedule with every other weekend
Start date: Immediate
Salary: According to collective agreement, Almega Vårdföretagarna
Trial employment: 6 months according to collective agreement
Base: The organization's office on Södermalm, Stockholm. You begin and end each work shift at the office.
The organization has clients in several different districts in Stockholm. During the workday you may work in one district or in nearby districts depending on which clients you are scheduled with. Which area you work in is determined by client needs, the organization's scheduling, and which staff are best suited for each client. The work area may therefore change over time.
You travel between clients using public transportation. The organization does not have vehicles and an SL card is a requirement for the position.
WORK TASKS
You work in clients' own homes and perform granted services such as personal care, bathing, dressing and undressing, meal preparation, social interaction, walks, shopping, laundry, cleaning, and accompaniment.
An important part of the work is being able to motivate the client and adapt your engagement and working approach so that support can be provided. Documentation and feedback to management are part of the work.
SUPPORT AND DEVELOPMENT
You work independently with clients but have ongoing support from management. You receive both practical and theoretical supervision as well as continuous professional development within the organization's various specializations.
TIME REGISTRATION AND DOCUMENTATION
We use Paragå for time registration and documentation. You log in and out at each client visit with a mobile phone and NFC tag. The system records time and location and is also used for documentation in the client's record.
