Mora is a city with proximity to nature and mountains that invite outdoor activities and an active lifestyle year-round. Mora Hospital is one of Region Dalarna's two emergency hospitals. The catchment area has approximately 80,000 residents, but outdoor facilities in Sälen and Idre, as well as major sporting events in both summer and winter, attract large tourist flows. Mora Hospital combines the comfort of a small hospital while serving as a trauma hospital. The Surgery, Anesthesia, and ICU clinic consists of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Central Operating Room (C-op), Day Surgery (DKM), Anesthesia Clinic, and Sterile Processing. The ICU handles approximately 1,500 patients per year, of which approximately 500 are ICU patients. In C-op and DKM, approximately 4,500-5,000 operations are performed annually, primarily surgery and orthopedics, but also some urology and oral/dental care. Sterile Processing handles instruments from operating departments, care units, and clinics at the hospital as well as from all health centers in Region Dalarna. Job Responsibilities Day Surgery Mora (DKM) is a modern operating department with bright and fresh facilities, located on the sixth floor with beautiful views over Mora. We have a work environment characterized by positivity, job satisfaction, and a commitment to providing our patients with the best possible experience during their visit. As a nursing assistant, you will rotate between working in our pre- and post-operative units, where we care for patients before and after surgery, as well as assisting in the operating room during procedures. As a nursing assistant on the surgical team, you work in close collaboration with the surgical nurse and anesthesia nurse in perioperative patient care. Together with the surgical nurse, you are responsible for systematically planning and organizing work related to surgical procedures, ensuring hygienic and aseptic principles are maintained, and preventing infection transmission. As the department currently operates, you will have the opportunity to work daytime Monday-Friday, with weekends and holidays off. Qualifications Requirements: Certified nursing assistant with protected professional title, with a degree from a healthcare and care program or vocational package in healthcare and care from adult education. Several years of experience from hospital ward or clinic work within hospital care. Good Swedish language skills in both speech and writing. Merits: Experience working in an operating department, emergency room, or intensive care. Personal Qualities We are looking for someone who is positive and thorough, has a patient-focused approach, and treats both patients and colleagues with respect. You are also comfortable expressing yourself in Swedish speech and writing and working with digital medical record systems. You have good multitasking abilities and stress tolerance, and can handle multiple tasks simultaneously. We also value good collaboration skills and a flexible work approach. This means you need certification from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant in healthcare and care. You can apply for the certification as of July 1, 2023. If you do not have certification, you can continue to work in healthcare and care, but with a different title than nursing assistant. For you who are offered a position with us at Region Dalarna after July 1, this means that the title in your employment contract will be Care Assistant until you can provide your certification. If you had a permanent employment with the title nursing assistant when the new rules took effect on July 1, 2023, you can continue to use the nursing assistant title for 10 years. You can retain the title even if you change workplace/employer after July 1. After that, you need certification of a protected professional title to use the nursing assistant title.
