The Psychiatric Clinic at Norrland University Hospital in Umeå is Northern Region's largest psychiatric clinic with just over 400 employees. We have three general psychiatric care units, forensic psychiatric services, and several specialized outpatient and treatment units. The Psychiatric Clinic works toward equitable care for all and nursing care based on research and clinical experience. The Psychiatric Clinic has moved into a newly built facility where the care environment is characterized by recognition of the importance of the environment in promoting health. The living and working environment is supported by modern technology and research, which is evident in the lighting and communication systems. The clinic is climate-smart through self-sufficiency in electricity and heat, among other things. We are seeking a nursing assistant/nurse/treatment assistant for Treatment Unit Kompassen, located on floor 2 in the psychiatric building. This unit offers patients with some form of psychotic illness group treatment in outpatient care. The aim of treatment is to raise functional levels, implement lifestyle changes, and reduce the consequences of the illness. Upon employment, there is an orientation plan based on the individual's own professional experience, with supervisors available for support in daily work. 1 position(s). WORK DUTIES Working in psychiatric outpatient care is highly varied and exciting work. The core of our operations is the encounter with the patient. At Kompassen, we have different professional roles and the focus is conducting group treatment, though individual patient contacts may occur. You make assessments and provide treatment for people's mental well-being from a health and holistic perspective. The group treatments offered by Kompassen follow national guidelines for psychotic services. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with approved nursing education as a nursing assistant/nurse/treatment assistant and with an interest in psychiatry. If you have further education in ESL, NEKT, and IMR or general experience within psychiatry, that is meritorious but not required. Your role involves contact with patients, so it is important that you have good interpersonal skills and language proficiency.
