Working as a nursing assistant in home care means you meet our care recipients in their own homes. The work is practical, varied, and sometimes physically demanding. You travel between care recipients, often by bicycle or car, and help with both care and services in the home.
The work requires that you can climb stairs, bend, lift, and sometimes work in confined spaces. There may also be heavier tasks, such as cleaning, carrying groceries from shopping, or helping care recipients move between bed and wheelchair.
You follow basic hygiene routines, wear work clothes, and maintain a respectful and professional approach toward care recipients, colleagues, family members, and other people we encounter in our work.
Here's what you will work with:
Assist with personal care, such as showering, hygiene, dressing, and toilet visits
Prepare or warm simple meals and serve food
In this role, you will administer medications, which means you need to receive delegation from licensed personnel
Assist with cleaning, laundry, bed-making, and waste sorting
Make purchases and accompany clients on errands
Provide social support, conversation, and walks
Document in digital systems and report according to SBAR to ensure good quality and safe care
Collaborate with colleagues, unit managers, nurses, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists as needed
Be a contact person or fixed care contact and plan with the individual how services should be carried out

Who are you?
You are a trained nursing assistant. You have good computer skills and good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. We would like you to have experience in care work, but it is not a requirement.
You need to be able to cycle to get around the area.
You need to have a B driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle to get around the area.

Before employment, you must show a passport/national ID. If you have citizenship from a country outside the EU/EES, you must also show your work permit. This is so we can verify your identity and your right to work in Sweden.
Before employment at the care administration, we would like you to provide a valid criminal record certificate. You can already order one from the police to speed up the recruitment process. We conduct language tests for positions within elderly care, so you may need to take a test before possible employment.
To be employed as a nursing assistant with us, you must provide proof of a protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare or a certificate from your employer of permanent employment as a nursing assistant as of July 1, 2023. Attach this to your application.
In the work, you may come into contact with both pets and tobacco smoke as we perform work in people's private homes.

Home Care Väster 1 is a home care team that currently consists of 42 employees. The home care group office is centrally located, only a 3-minute walk from the central station. The geographical area we work within is Hässleholm outer, Hassellunden, Sjörröd, and Vankiva.
