The Neuro-, Head and Neck Center currently brings together approximately 650 employees who work with the investigation, treatment, and rehabilitation of diseases and injuries affecting the nervous system, brain, ears, nose, throat, and in oral surgery. The operations serve patients in northern Sweden requiring highly specialized care. The Center also stands out nationally in the treatment of MS, Parkinson's disease, ALS, hydrocephalus, and stroke. Additionally, extensive research and education are conducted in close collaboration with the Clinical Neuroscience Unit at Umeå University. We are now seeking a nursing assistant who wants to be part of our team at the Neurology Department. We offer a temporary position through January 2027 with the possibility of extension. Here you will encounter a patient flow with both acute and planned admissions, where the patient's needs are always at the center. The Neurology Department offers high-quality care in an organization characterized by development and collaboration. The department has 12 care beds and admits patients with various neurological diagnoses, such as Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, and motor neuron diseases. We work according to the saldo model (model 3), which means significant participation in scheduling based on operational needs. The model includes night work and provides approximately 20% higher compensation for inconvenient working hours compared to central collective agreements. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a nursing assistant, you contribute with knowledge and commitment that make people feel secure. The role includes, among other things, blood sampling, checks, documentation, wound care, and certain practical tasks related to cleaning, kitchen, and supplies. You have a special responsibility for the patient's nutrition, mobilization, and daily care. Since we care for different patient groups with varying needs, the work becomes varied and developmental. Together with the nurse, you participate in identifying risks, assessing, addressing, and following up on the patient's care needs. Supervision of students is a natural part of the work, and you are part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of nurses, physicians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and social workers. Together, we work to create a good work environment where we thrive and develop both as individuals and as a team. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with approved nursing assistant training. Since nursing assistant is a protected title, you need to provide a certificate from the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen), or alternatively a service certificate that allows you to be covered by Socialstyrelsen's transitional provisions and use the title until June 30, 2033. You must also have completed an approved emergency care course. You are a committed colleague who contributes with knowledge and joy. Someone who feels responsibility for the patient's well-being and the organization's continued development. You have good communication both verbally and in writing. You have knowledge of and interest in the importance of care, nutrition, and hygiene for the patient. As a nursing assistant, you put the patient first, have good interpersonal skills, and adapt your care to the patient's different needs throughout their care journey. You are willing to take initiative, are easy to collaborate with, and are curious about new challenges. You feel responsibility and thrive in an environment with varying tasks and shifting intensity. You must be able to work all shifts around the clock as we provide 24-hour care. We value previous experience, but it is not a requirement. Great weight will be given to personal suitability.
