The Neurosurgical Department and Neurointensive Care (NIVA) are part of the Neuro-, Head- and Neck Center (NHHC) at Norrlands University Hospital. Within these various operations, patients with diseases and injuries to the nervous system, brain, ear, nose, and throat are treated. As a new team member, you will contribute to providing highly specialized care to patients from throughout the northern region.
As a new employee in the neurosurgical department/NIVA, you will be welcomed into a work group with broad expertise and good atmosphere—something we all contribute to. We provide both acute and planned care, giving you varied work where the patient is always in focus. We have an orientation program where as a new employee you are offered the internal training needed to be prepared to work with us. You are offered time for reading and the opportunity to participate in a mentoring program. As a team member, you have the opportunity to join our flexible scheduling model, with activity-adapted preferred schedules that focus on high participation in scheduling based on operational needs. The model also provides higher compensation for inconvenient working hours than the general collective agreement. For around-the-clock operations, you receive a wage supplement.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a nursing assistant with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that make people feel secure.
Work as a nursing assistant in the neurosurgical department and NIVA is qualified and team-based, where no two days are the same.
The work involves identifying risks, addressing and evaluating patients' various care needs. You work close to the patient both independently and as part of a team with colleagues and other professionals. With us, you participate in the care of patients with brain tumors, brain hemorrhages, and other conditions with vital parameter failure due to major operations, accidents, or serious medical conditions. We care for patients both before and after surgery.
Student and colleague mentoring is included as we are a university hospital with educational responsibility, which gives us a good opportunity to stay updated on procedures and treatments for our patients.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who are a trained nursing assistant. It is meritorious if you have experience in acute and hospital care. Since nursing assistant is a protected title, you must provide a certificate from Socialstyrelsen (National Board of Health and Welfare), or alternatively a service certificate that makes you covered by Socialstyrelsen's transitional provisions and allows you to use the title until June 30, 2033.
As a person, you have the ability to prioritize, be thorough, and are responsible. You collaborate easily but can also work independently. You actively contribute to a good work environment. The ability to handle many things at once is important as the flow is high and the variety of tasks many.
The Neurosurgery/NIVA department provides care at two care levels: the ward and NIVA. As a new member, you will start your first months working on the ward and then be trained in post-operative patients and patients cared for in NIVA.
