Read their answers here: 10 Reasons to Work at Psychiatry Southwest Job Responsibilities Our Unit On unit M79, we care for patients with depression and elderly patients with mental health conditions. The unit has 14 care beds. Nursing care has a major focus on our unit where we actively work with physical activity, patient care, calming strategies, and conversation. In the fall of 2026, one of the care beds will be a so-called "self-selected admission bed" where patients can control and plan their own admission, where the nurse plays an important role in the admission and discharge process. Our Approach We focus on working from a person-centered perspective. Through person-centered care, we want to strengthen patients' participation and utilize the patient's wishes, views, and resources as a natural part of the work. We constantly strive to develop 24-hour care where patients receive good treatment and evidence-based care, and staff with the right competencies are developed and thrive. We offer training according to our own training concept Braining, developed to stimulate and motivate patients to increase physical activity. The clinic currently offers extensive training opportunities where staff lead sessions and both patients and staff can participate. In addition to this, the unit has its own training in the form of balance training, seated exercise, and gentle yoga. The unit also has a health promoter whose task is to motivate and create space for movement for staff in daily work. The unit works with the Safewards concept for increased safety and security. Your Work as a Nursing Assistant You will work in a team consisting of patient, nurse, nursing assistant, and physician. We actively work with care plans and patient participation in their care. As a nursing assistant, you have an important role in basic patient care; you naturally participate in planning care and treatment with the nurse by implementing targeted activities together with patients. As a nursing assistant in psychiatric inpatient care on a unit focused on recovery from depression and mental health conditions in elderly patients, you will work with a comprehensive approach where psychiatric nursing care, somatic nursing care, and social work go hand in hand. Leadership On the unit, the care unit manager and senior physician work as co-leaders. As a nursing assistant with us, you will have a manager who actively works with leadership where participation, presence, and consideration are important. Our Expectations of You You have an interest in working with patients with mental health conditions and elderly patients. You are curious and have the ability to meet people with varying conditions. You believe that psychiatric nursing care is important and want to advance nursing care. Qualifications Evidence of protected professional title for nursing assistants or employer certificate proving that you had a permanent employment as a nursing assistant on July 1, 2023 in accordance with the transitional provisions (2021:739) of the Patient Safety Act (2010:659).
