About the Operation We have just moved into a state-of-the-art intensive care unit - take the chance to become part of the fantastic team working here! We are looking for you, a nursing assistant interested in joining us. ICU Falun is a general intensive care unit with 8 beds. We care for the hospital's most critically ill patients, both children and adults. Our ambition is to staff our intensive care unit with even more skilled professionals so we can expand our ability to deliver high-quality care to more residents of Dalarna. We welcome you if you have worked for several years and are ready for new challenges. You will receive an individualized structured introduction according to a special introduction program lasting 8 weeks. The introduction is planned with the department's care development specialist. You participate in a base year with teaching sessions and reflection several times over a year. During the first half year, we follow up the introduction with regular reflection meetings. After completing the introduction, you work in a team with experienced colleagues. You are also offered the opportunity for mentor contact. This means better schedules with recovery opportunities when working rotating shifts (day, evening, and night). Employment involves shared responsibility for staffing all days and hours of the year. The time valuation model calculations are based on a full-time measure of 37 hours/week. The schedule is planned individually based on operational needs. Job Duties On the intensive care unit, the region's most critically ill patients are cared for, those with failure in vital functions such as breathing, circulation, and consciousness. Many of our patients are unconscious or sedated and need help with all care. As a nursing assistant with us, you are welcomed to a well-staffed operation with good community and close teamwork. We work in teams together with nurses, doctors, and physiotherapists. Our patients require constant monitoring and staff presence. To make this possible, as a nursing assistant you work with one to two patients, depending somewhat on care needs. You are an important puzzle piece in caring for our patients and their families. Your work days will consist of close care and providing security to patients during serious illness and injury. Qualifications Requirements: Trained nursing assistant who has completed a Care and Health Program or the vocational package Care and Health through adult education Merit factors: Experience working as a nursing assistant within healthcare and social services Personal Qualities: As a person, you contribute a positive attitude to your work. You have the ability to create a calm and safe environment for our patients in close collaboration with colleagues. Work pace can vary, so you need to be prepared for when plans change and quickly be able to adjust up or down. There is much to learn here, so it is important to be curious and always dare to ask if you are unsure. You should work well in a team and have good collaborative skills while also enjoying working independently. For us, it is important to have work joy, think innovatively, and spread positive energy.
