Region Västerbotten works to strengthen good health and sustainable development together. We take responsibility for equitable welfare and ensure that research and innovation deliver results.
Lycksele Hospital is a small, modern, and well-equipped acute care hospital in southern Lapland. It has departments and clinics in areas such as surgery, radiology, internal medicine, rehabilitation/stroke, ophthalmology, obstetrics/gynecology, psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and pediatrics. The hospital and the proximity of our operations to each other offer a unique opportunity for development and learning across boundaries and a broad foundation to build on. We conduct close collaboration between clinics both at the hospital and throughout the region.
Center for Obstetrics and Gynecology Västerbotten (CFOG) is a regional organization where the three hospitals in the region participate and collaborate.
CFOG's unit in Lycksele, with approximately 30 employees, has a shared labor and postpartum ward, gynecology ward, gynecology clinic, specialist maternity care, and midwife clinic. In Lycksele, we are responsible for women's healthcare in southern Lapland, where many of our patients travel up to 30 miles (about 48 km) to reach us.
Our mission includes providing both acute and planned outpatient and inpatient care to pregnant women who primarily live in Västerbotten's inland areas, but also to women from other parts of the region.
Our team includes nursing assistants, midwives, physicians, secretaries, and social workers. We are currently working on an exciting development project in which we have created facilities designed to offer a warm and homely environment. We maintain high staff density, giving you the opportunity to spend time with patients and be present and supportive during deliveries as part of the teamwork that exists in our workplace. At our workplace, we value a good work environment with excellent development opportunities for you as an employee.
As a team, our goal is to provide labor and gynecological care where each patient's/parents' wishes are respected as much as possible.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a nursing assistant with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that make people feel secure.
With us, nursing assistants have an important and natural role in the team and contribute to patient-safe care of good quality. The nursing assistant's role in the delivery room is, in our view, of great importance, where you are a key part of non-medical pain relief methods by providing massage to the laboring woman, assisting with position changes, and providing security to the laboring woman and her partner.
To grow in your professional role and provide the best care, we believe it is important to enjoy your work and have the opportunity for continuous development. Job responsibilities are varied and include assisting during deliveries, care of postpartum patients, and pre- and post-operative care. Ward work such as cleaning, meal service for our patients, and inventory management also occur. Reception work may also be relevant.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you with a completed nursing assistant education. Experience in labor and postpartum care is an advantage.
We are looking for someone who puts the patient first, has good interpersonal skills, and adapts your care to the patient's different needs. You like to take initiative, are easy to collaborate with, and are curious about new challenges. You feel responsible and thrive in an environment with varied work tasks and varying intensity. For us, it is a given that you can work both independently and in a team. Thoroughness and teamwork are qualities we value.
Since nursing assistant is a protected title, you need to provide a certificate from the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare, or alternatively a service certificate that means you are covered by the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare's transitional provisions and can use the title until June 30, 2033.
