Nursing Assistant

Department A4 is an acute medical care unit. With us, you will meet and care for patients in need of both acute and planned postoperative care with a focus on upper and lower gastrointestinal, thoracic, vascular, urology, ENT, and oncology surgery patients. The department has 18 care beds and, if needed, two overflow beds. With us, you will experience variation in both pace and work tasks, and have the opportunity to become both well-rounded and specialized in acute medical care. Your Work Tasks You work together with the nurse on your care team close to the patients, responsibly and evidence-based while following our procedures. Together, you identify risks, assess, take action, and evaluate the patient's various care needs. Common work tasks with us include pre- and postoperative care and include, among other things, monitoring of vital parameters (NEWS), blood sugar checks, monitoring and follow-up of fluid and nutrition documentation, sample collection, wound and stoma care, management of drains, catheter placement, and more. You support patients in their daily care, such as personal hygiene, dressing and undressing, and ensure they are safe and well-prepared for examinations and operations. You play a central role in creating a good care environment. You document your work in the TakeCare journal system. You also contribute to the department running smoothly by restocking supplies, making beds, and serving meals. Who Are You? We are looking for you with an approved nursing assistant education. Since nursing assistant is a protected title, you need to provide a certificate from the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen), or alternatively a service certificate that allows you to be covered by the Board's transitional provisions and can use the title until June 30, 2033. It is advantageous if you have experience from acute care or surgical care. Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is important in your patient encounters and for collaboration in the department. Since teamwork is an important part of your work, you have a good ability to collaborate with others by being attentive and adapting to what the situation requires. You are an engaged and flexible person who, together with your colleagues, contributes to the development of the operation and creates a pleasant work environment. The job suits both you who are newly educated as a nursing assistant and you who have previous experience. We need you whether you want to work full-time or part-time and whether you want day/evening, rotation, or night shift only. We offer you individually tailored training.
