About the Operation
Pathology and Cytology Dalarna is a regional and accredited operation at Falun Hospital. We are responsible for morphological diagnostics in Region Dalarna within clinical pathology, cytology, and autopsy services. Our team of doctors, biomedical analysts, cytodiagnosticians, medical secretaries, laboratory assistants, and autopsy technicians work closely together in a well-functioning team. The physician group consists of seven specialists and three ST-doctors (specialty training doctors).
The operation has established digital pathology capabilities and also performs certain molecular pathology analyses.
Working hours are daytime, Monday through Friday.
Job Responsibilities
We are now seeking a medical doctor (underläkare) for a 6-month locum position with the possibility of extension. You will receive a personal supervisor and your service can be credited toward future specialty training (ST) in clinical pathology. For the right candidate, there are good opportunities for continued employment and an ST position in clinical pathology after the locum period ends.
As a medical doctor with us, you will receive broad introduction to clinical pathology and cytology with support from experienced specialists. The training follows the National Board of Health and Welfare's objectives for ST and recommendations from the Swedish Society of Pathology.
Your service will begin with an introduction program where you will gradually learn:
Gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens
Autopsy services, including organ removal and dissection
Microscopic diagnosis and digital pathology
After the introduction period, you will gradually take on greater responsibility in diagnostic work. You will also deepen your knowledge in a focal area and participate in multidisciplinary conferences (MDK).

The position is a locum running from 2027-01-15 to 2027-07-15.

Requirements
Swedish medical license
Good knowledge of Swedish, minimum level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale
Meritorious qualifications include:
Experience in clinical pathology, other laboratory medicine specialties, or forensic medicine
