Within the Pediatric Medicine Department, we care for children ages 0 to 18 years with various medical conditions. We provide everything from broad-based care for common illnesses affecting many children to highly specialized care for children and adolescents with rare and serious diagnoses. We care for both acute and planned patients, with care periods ranging from a few hours to sometimes several months.
The Pediatric Medicine Department has all competencies available, including physicians, nurses, pediatric nurses, social workers, psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, speech-language pathologists, and special education specialists. We work according to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Nordic Association for Sick Children's Needs (NOBAB) standards.

JOB DUTIES
We are now welcoming summer locums to our physician team within pediatric medicine in Lund/Malmö for the period June to August 2026. You will participate in regular work together with a chief physician/specialist/senior resident on our inpatient wards in Malmö or Lund. You will primarily work with ward duties such as rounds, planning and follow-up of investigations, and patient discharge.
QUALIFICATIONS
Regarding formal requirements, you need to have completed term 10 of medical school by the end of 2026/2027. You should preferably have Swedish language skills equivalent to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale.
Previous experience as a summer locum/locum, preferably within pediatric medicine, is a merit.
We are looking for someone who wants to develop in the physician role, who wants to learn more about working with chronically ill patients, and who has strong empathetic and emotional capabilities. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
