We are now seeking two to four teaching assistants for the Division of Structural Mechanics, with positions in Helsingborg and Lund. Job Responsibilities As a teaching assistant, your tasks will vary and should provide insight into the academic world at the faculty where you are pursuing your studies. The responsibilities include: - Teaching exercise sessions in the introductory course in structural mechanics for the engineering degree and master's degree programs. - Participation in the assessment of examination tasks in basic structural mechanics. - Supervision during laboratory sessions. - Administrative tasks. For positions based in Helsingborg, teaching is primarily scheduled for Monday and Wednesday 15:00-17:00. For positions based in Lund, teaching is scheduled according to the timetable for VSMA06 Structural Mechanics; see www.lth.se. Qualifications To be eligible for employment as a teaching assistant, you must be admitted to a program at the basic or advanced level at the faculty (or a related subject for joint departments). Your degree must not yet have been awarded. Requirements for employment: - Admission to a master's degree program, engineering degree program, or equivalent education that the employer considers relevant. - Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. - Completed course in Structural Mechanics or equivalent of at least 6 ECTS credits. - Very good understanding and proficiency in basic structural mechanics. - Good communication skills. Merits for employment: - Advanced-level knowledge in structural mechanics. - Previous teaching experience. - Good collaborative skills. - Interest in contributing to others' learning. Read more on the university's website about Working with Us. Additional Information The position is time-limited for the period 2026-11-01 to 2027-01-31 and represents 8-32% of full-time work. A position as a teaching assistant may not exceed 50% of full-time work and may be time-limited to a maximum of one year, with a combined maximum of three years. The position must not negatively affect the teaching assistant's studies. Regulations regarding educational employment as a teaching assistant are found in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), Chapter 5, sections 8-12. The position is covered by the Working Time Agreement for Teachers.
