At Wallenius Marine, we are seeking a Third Officer for the vessel Way Forward. Way Forward is a PCC vessel operating in Europe and North America, with a wonderful team onboard. Way Forward is on charter for Volkswagen. Are you ready for the next step in your career? Do you want to change environment and have dreamed of sailing the open seas? About the Position The role of Third Officer onboard Way Forward is developmental, varied, and a perfect step to join us at Wallenius Marine. You will work closely with the other nautical officers and be responsible for ensuring that safety, efficiency, and quality are pursued onboard. In the role, you will have varied tasks, such as: Navigation Bridge watch Responsibility for lifesaving equipment and certain firefighting equipment Focus on safety aspects onboard Support cargo and port operations Administrative tasks such as maintaining logs and keeping inventory lists updated Safety induction for new crew members Onboard Way Forward, both Filipino and Swedish crew work together. Since we have a mixed crew, we speak English onboard. Terms The position is a permanent employment, starting with a standard probationary period Tour length: approximately 8 weeks. Start date by agreement. The position may be filled before the application deadline closes. Requirements Requirements for the position are: Qualification as Third Officer Valid certificates and documentation for the position in accordance with STCW Manila Good knowledge of English – ability to express yourself in both speech and writing Merits and Personal Qualities It is meriting if you: Have previous experience from similar Ro-Ro vessels Have work experience in the role of Third Officer previously We see that you as a person are positive, driven, unpretentious, and approach new challenges with curiosity at our company.
