Description The City Environment Administration has overall responsibility for the city's public spaces and collective accessibility. We work to create accessible, attractive, and vibrant urban environments and natural areas. The Administration owns and manages the tram network in Gothenburg. Approximately 1,000 people work at the Administration. The City Environment Administration is part of the city development administrations in the City of Gothenburg. Job Responsibilities Do you want to help shape a sustainable Gothenburg where the urban environment works for everyone? With us, you'll have a key role in developing the streets, squares, and parks of the future. As an experienced traffic designer, you support project managers in choosing the right solutions for the city's street spaces. You contribute your expertise in balancing different spatial demands, traffic types, and functions to create sustainable and well-functioning comprehensive solutions. With your knowledge of traffic engineering detailed design, you ensure that projects maintain high quality, are safe, and accessible for everyone who uses the city's public environments. In your role, you also have a responsibility to review and quality assure design proposals at various stages of the project process and serve as important support in both strategic and technical matters. The role involves close collaboration with project managers, specialists, and other colleagues to develop solutions that contribute to an attractive, safe, and sustainable urban environment. In the role, you'll have a varied workday where you work on everything from major renovation projects to smaller and temporary urban development initiatives. You're involved from idea to finished solution and contribute to developing the city's public spaces for today's and tomorrow's Gothenburg residents. Qualifications We're looking for someone with an engineering degree or equivalent experience, as well as several years of experience in traffic design in complex urban environments. You have high traffic engineering expertise and are comfortable contributing to sustainable and well-functioning solutions in the city's public spaces.
