As a traffic strategist, you will work in the early stages of urban planning and contribute to long-term solutions that affect how people move and live. The role is central to achieving the municipality's goals for sustainable and attractive urban development.
Your Responsibilities
You will be part of a unit with 14 employees working on physical strategic planning. Here you will find expertise such as planning architects, city architects, municipal ecologists, water and sewage strategists, traffic strategists, property strategists, and climate adaptation strategists. The unit leads, coordinates, and follows up on the municipality's work in urban development and is part of a department together with the Business Unit, Planning Unit, and Land and Development Unit.
As a traffic strategist, you will:
Take overall responsibility for the municipality's work with transportation.
Lead, coordinate, and follow up on goals within the transportation area for the municipal organization.
Participate in the early stages of urban planning, for example in the development of comprehensive plans, detailed comprehensive plans, structure plans, pre-studies, and measure selection studies.
Provide advisory input on detailed plans.
Collaborate with the technology and property management, Halland Traffic, the Swedish Transport Administration, Region Halland, and other municipalities in southern Sweden.
Handle matters related to paratransit services, air quality, and noise.
Prepare background materials, respond to referrals and motions, and present our work to politicians.
Your Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you are curious and driven to understand complex societal issues from multiple perspectives. You work strategically and long-term, with the ability to analyze connections and foresee the consequences of different choices. You are self-driven and take initiative when you see a need, and you advance issues even in situations where all conditions are not yet in place. At the same time, you have good collaboration skills and actively involve others in the work, as you depend on cooperation to achieve results. You contribute new ideas and perspectives and challenge existing ways of working, while transforming strategies into implementable solutions.
Requirements:
University degree in traffic and/or urban planning.
At least one year of work experience in the field.
Excellent Swedish in speech and writing.
Merits:
Experience in traffic planning.
Basic knowledge of traffic planning systems.
Driver's license (Category B).
