As a Traffic Enforcement Officer, you play an important role in creating order, traffic safety, flow, and accessibility in Halmstad Municipality. You are one of the municipality's visible representatives in the community, and your professional demeanor is therefore an important part of the role. Your responsibilities An important part of the work is meeting residents and visitors, answering questions, providing information, and helping people understand and follow applicable regulations. Good customer service and assistance are a natural part of the job. You are also responsible for parking enforcement on public streets and private areas. This includes verifying that parking fees are paid where required, identifying illegally parked vehicles, and taking appropriate action when parking regulations are not followed. The work requires you to make independent judgments and act fairly, justly, and consistently. When appropriate, providing information and guidance should be a natural part of helping people do the right thing. At the same time, applicable regulations must be followed and enforced equitably. You may also participate in other assignments within the municipality's traffic authority and service operations, for example, serving as a market supervisor. The work also includes certain administrative tasks. You collaborate with colleagues and other departments within the municipality and contribute where needed to fulfill the department's mission. Your qualifications We are looking for someone who has: High school education Category B driver's license Good Swedish language skills, both written and verbal Good oral English skills; you should be able to communicate fluently in English Experience with digital work and good knowledge of Office 365 Experience in customer service with daily customer contact Desirable qualifications: Experience in parking enforcement Additional oral language skills beyond Swedish and English Training in vehicle relocation Public parking enforcement officer certification To thrive and succeed as a Traffic Enforcement Officer, you are service-oriented, humble, and have a professional demeanor. Additional information The position involves shift work including early mornings, daytime, evenings, and weekends. The parking enforcement position involves the exercise of public authority and places special demands on trustworthiness and legal protection. To be considered for employment, you therefore need to obtain a certificate from the Police Criminal Records Register. A certificate will be requested from the candidate selected for the position. The candidate must order the certificate themselves from the Police Authority and present it to the recruiting manager before employment can be offered. If the certificate is sent by mail, it must be presented in an unopened envelope. If the certificate is obtained digitally, the verification will be conducted together with the recruiting manager.
