Tram as well as school transport and accessible transport services are also part of the department's mission. These activities help make it easier for people to live, reside, and work in Norrköping. Your responsibilities As a traffic engineer, you work broadly with issues related to traffic legislation, traffic regulation, traffic flow, traffic safety, traffic environment, and technical solutions within the traffic field. You are part of an engaged team where cooperation with colleagues, external partners, and the public is a natural part of everyday work. You have broad traffic expertise and a good understanding of different road user groups' needs. In your work, you make well-balanced assessments based on the municipality's goals, decisions, and applicable legislation. In this role, you work with, among other things, traffic signals, heavy load warning systems, and traffic data and related equipment, such as traffic counters. You also handle permits for entrances and exits, building permit referrals, and other internal and external referrals within the traffic field. The work also includes issues such as parking, signage, and traffic safety. You also work with investigations in areas such as noise, vibrations, and air quality. The role involves collaboration with contractors, consultants, authorities, and municipal operations, as well as participation in various external forums. You also contribute to developing routines and working methods and provide support on various traffic-related issues. Who are you? We are looking for someone with higher education of at least three years with a focus on traffic, urban planning, or street and construction engineering, or alternatively other education or experience that the employer deems equivalent. You have experience working within streets and traffic, and experience independently handling traffic matters and cases. It is an advantage if you have worked within municipal operations or another public organization and have experience collaborating with, for example, contractors, consultants, authorities, and municipal operations. You have good knowledge of traffic legislation and traffic design, as well as a good understanding of streets, land, and infrastructure. You express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and hold a B-category driver's license. As a person, you are flexible and adapt easily to changed circumstances. You work independently, take responsibility for your tasks, and plan and structure your work efficiently. At the same time, you have good cooperation skills, enjoy sharing knowledge and information, and are skilled at creating and developing relationships. You have an analytical approach, can identify problems, and develop realistic solutions.
