Are you an engaged traffic engineer who wants to help shape the future of sustainable transportation in one of Sweden's most expansive and bicycle-friendly cities? We are now looking for you to strengthen our team and take a key role in developing Lund's traffic environment. About the role and your responsibilities As a traffic engineer with us, you will work broadly with the municipality's ongoing traffic matters. You will work with monitoring and analysis of traffic and travel development in Lund municipality, investigate and handle traffic cases and referrals, work with traffic safety measures and accessibility for all modes of transport, prepare decision-making materials for the technical committee, and in various contexts serve as an advisor on traffic issues. The tasks are varied and will develop over time. You will have many different contacts. The public, collaboration with colleagues within the municipal organization, and with external stakeholders and authorities will be part of your daily work. You will participate in smaller to larger development projects and lead and drive investment projects from sketch work to finished facilities. Participation in larger infrastructure and urban development projects may also become relevant, such as Lund C and four tracks. The recruitment may potentially result in more than one employment. We are looking for you who Have a degree as a civil engineer or engineering graduate with a focus on traffic and mobility or equivalent education in the field Have several years of professional experience in a relevant work area, for example traffic engineer, traffic analyst, designer, project manager or similar in facilities and traffic Have good communication skills in both Swedish and English Have good knowledge of office packages Are structured, goal- and results-focused Are problem-solvers, self-directed, have good analytical ability and good collaboration skills Preferably have a Class B driver's license We would like you to be broad in your traffic expertise and have a good understanding of different road users' requirements and needs, and can make wise trade-offs in relation to the objectives that the municipality has decided. You have good experience with AutoCAD or equivalent drawing programs. Meritorious is experience in municipal engineering and municipal planning processes as well as knowledge in design. Also meritorious is experience of working with traffic issues in large, complex infrastructure or urban development projects and experience of driving projects and/or acting as a specialist in project groups with several different technical areas. About the workplace The Mobility Unit is part of the Urban Planning Department and is responsible for planning and development of the municipality's streets, squares and pedestrian and cycling paths. You are one of 20 employees at the mobility unit with a focus on mobility management, traffic planning and urban planning. We are a competent and good team with good cohesion. We ensure that Lund has a well-functioning and sustainable transport system for all road users. The unit is responsible for planning, development and use of the transport system in the municipality. The overarching objective of the work is to reduce emissions from the transport sector by making sustainable modes of transport – walking, cycling and public transport – more attractive. The workplace is centrally located in Lund right next to the railway station. We work in an activity-based office environment and have flexible working hours. The Infrastructure and Building Services Department is responsible for a broad range of activities covering the entire building and construction process. With approximately 350 engaged and competent employees, we work with everything from urban planning, land management and development to building permits, environmental supervision and nature conservation.
