Regional Development has the task of capitalizing on opportunities and promoting development within a number of important areas, such as skills and education and business. We are seeking a Traffic Manager for the public transport operations area. Under the Länstrafiken brand, we operate general and special public transport by bus and taxi in Jämtland Härjedalen. Within the business, we work to enable people to get to work and studies, to ensure employers have the right expertise in place, and to provide transport to public services for those without their own cars. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As unit manager for the traffic department, "Traffic Manager" with us, you work with traffic development and traffic planning at both an operational and strategic level. You will play a major role in realizing the political goals and strategies found in the Traffic Supply Program for the region's public transport. You work with planning and improvements to existing traffic systems, but primarily you work with planning and development of new ones. In the near term, this includes implementing a new zone division and implementing a new ticketing and payment system. In collaboration and close dialogue with colleagues, municipalities, and relevant transport companies, you work to develop long-term planning and development of public transport where you present proposals and solutions. For the operations, you contribute expertise and traffic descriptions in the procurement processes for traffic agreements. In your role as manager, you coach the unit's eight employees and in collaboration with them, you develop an operations plan, take responsibility for implementation, follow up, and improve operations. You are responsible for the traffic unit's budget and monitoring of agreements within your area. You are part of the Public Transport area management group and report directly to the area manager of operations, for whom you are also a substitute in various forums during absences due to vacations, etc. The work includes crisis management, emergency preparedness, and when needed, you handle press and media inquiries. The employment is fundamentally a traffic planning position with a fixed-term management assignment for four years as unit manager for the traffic department. The management assignment may be extended. QUALIFICATIONS We are seeking someone with an academic degree and many years of experience working with traffic planning within public transport or equivalent logistics planning. Previous work experience in management is a merit. As a person, you are structured, communicative, and have good collaboration skills. You have the ability to manage and drive multiple processes simultaneously, sometimes independently and often in consultation with others. You have good social competence and the ability to create good relationships and manage many contact points both internally and externally. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
